Welcome to UnSupervised, the podcast where three counsellors step out of the therapy room and into the conversation.

Join Andy, Donna and Deon as we explore the messy, funny, difficult and sometimes downright ridiculous business of being human. From relationships, anxiety and grief to parenting, work, identity, ageing and everything that happens in between, nothing is necessarily off the table.

We bring three different personalities, experiences and perspectives to the conversation. Sometimes we agree, sometimes we definitely don't, and quite often we end up somewhere none of us expected.

There'll be plenty of therapeutic insight, but this isn't therapy and we're not here to tell you how to live your life. We're three counsellors having the kinds of honest conversations that usually happen when nobody else is listening.

Expect real experiences, different perspectives, dark humour, occasional oversharing and more than a few tangents.

UnSupervised - because counsellors probably shouldn't be left alone with microphones.

Deon

I’m Deon, a person-centred counsellor, psychology graduate, wife, mum and curious observer of the human experience.

After more than 15 years working in healthcare. I eventually found my way to counselling, a path shaped by both my professional experience and my own journey through life. My counselling placement was in NHS Occupational Health, supporting staff with burn out and complex mental health issues.

I’ve always been fascinated by people, the things we carry, the patterns we repeat and the experiences that shape who we become. I’m drawn to the honest conversations, the messy middle bits and the moments that remind us we’re not quite as alone as we sometimes think.

I believe in the power of human connection, the possibility of change and the importance of having somewhere you can put things down for a while.
